There should be 4 players to start the game.
In the dominoes block game with four players, each player starts with seven dominoes. The goal is to be the first to get rid of all your dominoes. Here's a summary of how the game is played:
Setup (done automatically) :
- Shuffle the dominoes face down.
- Each player draws seven dominoes.
- The remaining dominoes form the "boneyard" are not used in this variation.
Starting the Game:
- The player with the highest double (e.g., [6|6]) goes first by placing the desired dominoe in the center.
- If no one has a double, the player with the highest total on a domino (e.g., [6|5]) starts. (not for this variation)
Playing the Game:
- Play proceeds clockwise.
- Each player must place a domino that matches one of the open ends of the domino chain (e.g., if the chain ends in [6|3], you can play a domino with a 6 or a 3).
- If a player cannot make a legal move, they pass their turn.
Winning the Game:
- The game continues until one player places their last domino, winning the round.
- If no player can make a move and the game is blocked, the player with the lowest total of pips (dots) on their remaining dominoes wins the round.
Scoring:
- The winner of the round scores the total number of pips on all opponents remaining dominoes.
- The game typically continues for multiple rounds until a player reaches a pre-agreed score, often 100 or 150 points.
The strategic element involves blocking opponents, setting up future moves, and playing defensively to avoid getting stuck with high-value dominoes.
